We are looking for someone sharp, competitive, and good with people to join as our first sales hire. You will run outbound, talk to customers every day, show up at events, and help us build the sales motion and the customer success muscle from scratch.

We are a small, distributed team of tinkerers, builders, and creatives with hubs in NYC and SF. We previously built collaborative products at Stripe, Airbnb, Atlassian, and Twitter.

Everyone stays close to customers, writes clearly, ships concretely, and owns outcomes.

We have found product-market fit and are seeing customers land and quickly expand to multiple departments and use cases. We are hiring our first sales person to turn that signal into pipeline.

What you will own

Outbound, conversations, pipeline, and keeping customers happy

Prospect

Research target accounts, write cold emails and LinkedIn messages that get replies, and book meetings. You are the first touch for most new customers.

Talk

Have real conversations with prospects every day. Understand their workflows, uncover what hurts, and learn how to explain what Type does and why it matters.

Support

Shadow and assist on demos, proposals, and closes. You will see every part of what it takes to win a deal.

Show up

Represent Type at dinners, conferences, and meetups. Be the person people remember meeting.

Keep the CRM clean. Track every deal. Feed intel back to the team about what is working and what is not.

Grow

Stay close to customers after they sign. Make sure they are getting value, help them expand to new teams and use cases, and flag anything that looks like it might churn.

6 months in

What success looks like

  • A healthy pipeline of warm accounts you sourced yourself
  • A clear point of view on what messaging lands and what does not
  • At least a handful of deals you helped close end to end
  • Strong relationships at the accounts we care most about

Who you are

A natural in the room

  • 1 to 3 years of experience, ready to build a sales career by actually doing it
  • Good with people. You build rapport fast and make strangers feel at ease
  • Strong writer. You can send a cold email that gets a reply
  • Competitive and coachable. You want to win and you are honest about what you do not know yet
  • Curious about AI. You do not need to be technical but you need to care and be able to talk about it credibly
  • Fine with the unglamorous work. Research, follow-ups, CRM hygiene, event logistics. You do not shy away from any of it

  • A person who needs a full playbook handed to them before getting started
  • Someone who would rather watch than do
